Biking in Burlington

7 02 2012 I am sure that all of you bikers who live in a supposed bike friendly town wonder every once in a while what the hell your town/city planners are up to. I do, and so I have started this blog to bring to light some of the issues that I have with the streets of Burlington, Vermont. I would like to add right from the start that I understand this is a slow process and that perfect bike lanes are not built over night, but I do think that the conditions of the roads must be acknowledged and hopefully improved so that bikers can more freely come and go without fear of getting smushed. I also want to acknowledge Local Motion, an awesome organization down on Burlington’s waterfront that works hard to improve the safety and popularity of biking and walking. I will be using them as a resource. Check their website out, they do some cool stuff
For this blog, I will hopefully post some good maps of the area in addition to alternative routes that are not yet listed for the B-Town area. Thanks for checking this out, and I will be back with more info shortly!
